The last day for entry to the Scottish Ladies at Southerness is Monday 20th April so there's still time. It starts 20th May with a practice round the day before. This event is not supported in any great numbers by senior/veteran ladies and the question is why not. There is no reason why it should be solely the domain of the young and the extremely low handicap. It provides plenty scope for all the usual aspects of a championship - competition and social. Why not boost the presence of the more mature lady golfer, show these young things golf doesn't stop at twenty-one and give it a go?
PS. If you have any views on why more senior/veteran ladies do not play in open "ladies" competitions, you could always send in your comments.
