We are delighted to announce the Team which will represent the SVLGA at next month's Jamboree at Frilford Heath Golf Club, Oxfordshire.

Jennifer Bryans  EAST

Donna Jackson  WEST
Gillian Kyle  WEST
Lesley Lloyd  WEST

Most of the Team selected were part of the successful Scottish Team which beat the Irish Seniors at Murcar in April, bringing home the Mary McKenna Perpetual Trophy after a nine-year absence. Donna Jackson is making her Jamboree debut and brings with her a wealth of both County and International experience, not to say youth, being the youngest member of the Team!
The Team comprises an excellent mix of personalities who all bring not only their golfing skills with them but a great Team spirit and eagerness to be successful.
The Jamboree matches will take place from the 8th to the 10th of August at Frilford Heath GC, Oxfordshire. The foursomes matches start at 8.30am and the singles at 1.05pm each day. If anyone should be in the area and would like to come and support us, you would be made most welcome.

Kathleen Sutherland, Captain
Ellie Whyte, Vice Captain

The Championship Semi Finals and Finals were played today at Haddington Golf Club. The weather was warm and sunny which was a pleasant change.
In the first semi final Jennifer Bryans played Barbara Biggart.   Jennifer had a hole in one at the 8th hole and won on the 13th hole 6 / 5.
The second semi final was played between Karen Ballantyne and Jane Herd. This match also finished on the 13th hole Karen also winning  6 / 5.
In the Final there was some lovely golf played. Jennifer was just too steady and defeated Karen on the 13th hole 6 /5 being one over par for the 13 holes played.

Apologies for no further updates on the Championship after the first round. Internet and Computer problems meant that I was unable to update the Blog.   The full results can be seen on Scottish Golf or Kirkwood Golf.
Congratulations to Jennifer Bryans who qualified for the Match Play Championship.  She defeated the top Qualifier,  Frances Millar (Carnoustie) in the 1st round , and was defeated in the Quarter Finals by defending Champion Sheena Wood (Aberdeen) 1 Hole.
In the handicap Match Play,  Mairi Pollock and Karen Ballantyne both Craigmillar Park were defeated in the Quarter Finals.
Well done to all East Vets who competed.  The weather was very wet on the Tuesday and Thursday making conditions difficult.  The course was in fantastic condition and the greens very slick.
