SCOTTISH VETS CHAMPIONSHIP

East Vets  Champion,  Karen Ballantyne, took her place
 in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Veterans Ladies Golf Association Championship on Saturday 20th September at the new venue of Strathmore GC.  Karen came through a close match with Lorraine Campbell, representing the West, by the margin
of 2 and 1.

In the Sunday semi-final, Karen came up against Lorna Bennett who was in fine late-season form.  Lorna prevailed by the margin of 4 and 3 over Karen and went on to win in a dramatic final against Mary Smith (Highland Vets) which went to the 19th!  As last year, our East Vets Champion lost to the overall Champion.  Well done Karen for representing the East so well and congratulations to Lorna Bennett for becoming Scottish Vets Champion for 2014.
