Many ties have been played in the Ramsden Cup from early April through to the end of August with tales of putts holed and putts that missed, of shots that went where intended and those which didn't......... !! And the two ladies who have made it through to the final of the Ramsden Cup to be played at Liberton GC are:
Margaret Fergusson and Susan Tudball
Good luck to both

AUTUMN MEETING REPORT
Congratulations to Fiona Ford of Murrayfield (right) who won the Rosebowl Trophy at Liberton Golf Club today (Monday 25th August) - beating last year's winner, Christine Clarke of Deer Park GC.
Fiona's net 67 (playing off a handicap of 11) was one better than Christine's net 68 (playing off 15). Five ladies had net 69s which matched Liberton's par and also the CSS for the day which went up by one from the SSS of 68. The best scratch score of the day came from Jennifer Bryans (Harburn) with a 76, narrowly pipping Elinor Blair of North Berwick whose 77 had held the Clubhouse lead for a while. Full results can be found on Masterscoreboard whilst the prizewinners are noted below.
Overall winner of the Rosebowl and
1st Silver Handicap : Fiona Ford 78 (11) 67
2nd handicap (Silver) : Christine Clarke 83 (15) 68
3rd Handicap (Silver) : Elinor Blair 77 (8) 69 (bih)
4th Handicap (Silver) : Morag Wardrop 79 (10) 69 (bih)
1st Handicap (Bronze) : Jane Browitt 94 (25) 69 (bih)
2nd Handicap (Bronze) : Sandra Craig 91 (22) 69
Scratch : Jennifer Bryans 76
Missing out on the prizes was Gillian Kirkwood who also had very creditable net 69 but lost out on countback.
The competition was played in dry but cool conditions with a gusty east wind which caught out a few players. For other competitors there were tales of adventures in bunkers resulting in unwelcome high scores whilst for some, as ever, putting woes put paid to playing in buffer zones.

EAST RETAIN THE ASP FRIENDSHIP TROPHY
The Asp Friendship Trophy is presented by Marion Stewart (West Vets Vice Captain) to the East Captain, Marjory Lauder (photo courtesy of Marion)
Dulcie Barnes & Christine Clarke beat Anabel Kane & Mo Neilson 4/3
Norma Richmond & Margaret Fergusson beat June Lockhart & Enid Young 2 up
Kate Johnston & Pam Townsend beat Morag Key & Liz Hale 4/3
Fiona Ford & Clare Bowe beat Anita McMillan & Cathy Morton 6/4
Frances McFadrean & Jane McMinn beat Mary Wylie & Maureen Cook 1 up
The meal was superb. There was a choice of 3 hot courses , salad, dessert, and cheese.
There was plenty chat.
Marion Stewart presented the East with the trophy, thanked us for our hospitality, and informed us that the match would be contested at Kilmacolm next year!
Marjory Lauder recaps the match for us below; not a day for lots of photos by the sound of things but click here for a flavour of the day!!
'Big Bertha ' took on a new meaning as the teams huddled beside the starters hut on Gullane No. 2 before the East v West match on Tuesday 12th August. (So much for the "Glorious 12th" from the point of view of weather!)
Having kitted our team out with team jumpers the jumpers were quickly concealed under waterproofs. The wind gusted and the rain rained. Was it a 3 club wind or even a 10 club wind?
The Lothian Boys were playing on No. 3 course and UNDER 12s were about to start.
We could not be outdone and felt obliged to continue with our matches.!
Clare Bowe was drafted in at the last moment and suggested that we could curtail our matches to 14 holes if the weather became worse.(cutting out 10 to 13 )
Team Captains Marion Stewart and Marjory Lauder decided to meet the matches at the 9th green and assess the situation! However the 1st match were happy to continue over 18 holes as they were coping with the wind. Decision made! Onwards played the Vets from East and West. The rain did ease at times but the wind persisted.
All the players enjoyed their games ---winners or losers. The individual scores are listed below (East names first) with a fine home win for the East Vets by 5 -0.
